Lisa Rinna Warns Against This "Big Trigger" for Daughter Amelia's Eating Disorder
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom gives an update on Amelia Gray Hamlin's health.
This season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Rinna and her youngest daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin, have opened up about Amelia's struggle with an eating disorder. "No matter how many deaths anorexia causes, no matter how much blindness, how much hair loss, all I cared about was the skinniness. I could have died," Amelia shared earlier this season.
Amelia has since shared that she's "100% recovered," but her mom took a moment at the RHOBH reunion to remind people that their comments can still have a harmful impact on someone else's recovery. "Amelia's gone through a lot in her anorexia. She's quite healthy right now, right in this moment. And recently, people have said, 'Well, you don't look anorexic, you're not that thin,' which is a really big trigger," explained Lisa. "It's f--king difficult."
Amelia has spoken out about insensitive comments and how damaging they can be on social media as well. "Sadly I feel the need to remind people what anorexia looks like. And there is not just one type," Amelia shared in June alongside photos of her body at varying weights. "In both photos I was struggling equally as much as the other. Please understand the illness before speaking on it."
