Oprah Winfrey Ate Her "Favorite Meal" for Her Birthday — And Shared a Home Video of the Spread That Will Make You Drool
Hint: Rosé was involved.
Oprah Winfrey turned 64 on January 29, and the Weight Watchers ambassador (who still isn't running for president, maybe, probably) decided to eat her favorite meal to celebrate. As one does, and as one deserves! And surely, Oprah — who recently delivered one of the entertainment world's historically great speeches at the Golden Globes, on the same week her home city fell victim to a deadly natural disaster — especially deserved some comfort and indulgence.
Oprah posted a video to Instagram revealing the super Southern indulgences involved with the celebratory feast:
"This is me on my birthday having cornbread and black eyed field peas and rosé," she said in the video. "Thank you John Travolta for the glass and I have to say, yes I did. I had two pieces."
Her former personal chef (and Top Chef Masters competitor) Art Smith may have fueled her fondness for cornbread with this buttermilk-enhanced recipe that she shared on her website.
According to E! News, some of Oprah's staffers helped her celebrate her birthday earlier in the week with a cake from Hansen's, the Los Angeles bakery of choice for all major Kardashian occasions.
Happy Birthday, Oprah!
