Chefs Pay Tribute to Anthony Bourdain on What Would Have Been His 62nd Birthday
Birthday wishes for the late Parts Unknown host flooded social media on June 25.
Anthony Bourdain would have turned 62 years old on June 25. To celebrate their friend and mentor — who died by suicide on June 8 — celebrity chefs posted touching tributes on social media.
Chef Andrew Zimmern was among the many to post a photo that captured a grinning Bourdain. "60 minutes of non stop laughter, the Wonder Wheel," he wrote, to caption a snap of himself laughing with the Parts Unknown host.
Elsewhere on social media, Bravo's Top Chef alum Richard Blais posted a piece of tribute art that showed a new wall art mural of the late chef in Los Angeles. "Happy Birthday Chef," he wrote, as part of a short caption.
Padma Lakshmi used the same image in her post, which simply read: "Thinking of you on your birthday."
For his part, Momofuku chef David Chang wrote to Bourdain: "We all miss you so much."
Birthday wishes for Bourdain also flooded the chef's own Instagram feed. Under his last-ever Instagram snap — which showed off an Alsatian lunch — fans posted poignant sentiments including: "Happy birthday wherever you are."
