See the Feel-Good Way the Oscars Kept Stars From Going Hungry During This Year's Ceremony
The 2018 Oscars pitched in sustenance for celebrities in attendance — and for the Los Angeles Food Bank, too.
Award ceremonies, for how glamorous and exciting they are, can be notoriously long — and notoriously hunger-inducing. (The seated-dinner-style Golden Globes ceremony is one notable exception.) Just ask Chrissy Teigen, whose hilarious McDonald's commercial parodies the whole experience. But the 2018 Oscars did provide snacks for guests — and in a way that was both personal... and uplifting, too.
Under each of their seats this year, guests got cardboard boxes filled with snacks, including such nosh as chips, a This Bar Saves Lives bar — and Listerine breath strips for good measure.
Each box also contained a note from Kimmel: "It wouldn't be right for me to make you sit through this without snacks. Please don't throw them at me. XO, Jimmy Kimmel."
But it was the post script that made the whole thing even better: "P.S.," Kimmel added at the bottom: "A donation to the L.A. Regional Food Bank has been made in your honor."
