Does Zoe Saldana Have Beef with Britney Spears for Telling the World She Was Pregnant with Twins?
The actress confirms her Crossroads co-star really did spill the beans.
A caller on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen wanted to know if the rumors about Zoe Saldana and Britney Spears are true. Did Britney tell the world that Zoe was expecting twins, ruining her chance to share the news in her own time, in her own way? Um, yes.
Zoe’s twins were born in 2014, so this is an old transgression. Zoe doesn’t seem too mad, though she did confirm, saying, “It’s so true, but—it’s really true. But the way that happened was so innocent that I’ve never even thought of holding her accountable to anything.”
Zoe and Britney worked together on Britney’s classic singer finds stardom film vehicle, Crossroads in 2002.
The two have remained friends since, and Zoe said they recently ran into each other while traveling.
“We were on the same flight from LA to New York,” explained Zoe, “And we just talked for the duration of the flight. She has two boys and I was having twins —and I forgot. It literally didn’t even occur to me to tell her not to say anything, because you just don’t. We weren’t trying to hide it, we were just trying to be discreet.
“And then, when she disclosed it, she was just ‘being Britney’ and I love her—”
At that, the audience in the studio began to laugh, but Zoe quickly assures them that she didn't mean that to sound so shady.
“I don’t mean that in a negative way,” she explained, “I mean, that she lives her life in such truth. I was shocked, because we weren’t ready to share that, but it was Britney, so it was okay.”
“You mean to say,” said Andy, “‘It’s Britney, bitch.’”
“Thank you!” Zoe exclaimed, “It’s Britney, bitch.”
When Andy asked if they’ve ever spoken about Britney’s spill, Zoe said no.
“I haven’t seen her since, but I’m pretty sure we will. We will.”
Is that a promise or a threat?
