Carrie Underwood is healing beautifully after a fall that left her requiring more than 40 stitches in her face. But it's been a long road to recovery. The country singer has kept fans in the loop about her progress since the accident, and now she's opening up about what caused the scary fall in the first place.
Underwood recently visited the Bobby Bones Show, where she shared what happened on that fateful day in November. "I was taking the dogs out and I just, I tripped, and there was one step and I didn’t let go of the leashes," she said. "Priorities! So, that’s why my left hand is fine. I went to catch myself and just missed a step. If I would’ve fallen anywhere else, I would’ve looked just fine.”
She added: “I’ve been very fortunate in the healing process. I was lucky that when it happened we had the holidays and everything, but I was at a point where I didn’t know how it was going to end up."
Of damaging her wrist, the singer shared: "The most frustrating part was trying to work out with a broken wrist and how much it can throw off your world, having an appendage that’s there, but you can’t use."
Now that she's recovered from her injury, Underwood said: "It feels good to be back." And, she added that her 3-year-old son Isaiah has helped boost her morale in the aftermath. "Now, when I put makeup on, [he says] ‘Your boo-boo's all gone.'"
