Scheana Shay Reveals Where She Stands with Brock Davies Amid Their Parenting Struggles

Scheana Shay and Brock Davies got into a heated argument about the need for a nanny for their daughter, Summer Moon Honey Davies, on Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Episode 5.

Scheana Shay and Brock Davies' Fight Over Parenting: All the Details
On the Feb. 27 episode of the Vanderpump Rules After Show, Scheana directly addressed her and Brock's argument over hiring a nanny. More specifically, she explained how she later came around to the idea once she understood Brock's point of view.

"I knew how important it was to him. And we try to be a couple where we compromise — he wants things one way, I want things another way, let's meet in the middle," Scheana explained. "I knew he really wanted to bring outside help to let my mom be the grandma, and not the grandma, the nanny, and this and that. She wears a lot of hats. We wanted to try and figure out a way where it's maybe more on the weekends Summer goes and spends time with her grandparents, and it's not an everyday thing."
This would ultimately be better for her in the long run, too, Scheana revealed.
Scheana Shay's Mom and the Role She Plays in Raising Summer Moon
Explaining why this change would be so beneficial for not just her family but also her own mental health, Scheana said, "As much as I love my mom, and I think she has helped me to be the woman and now mom who I am, she does come with a lot of opinions."
"And it can do a number on my confidence at times where I'm like 'Oh sh-t, I'm doing this wrong 'cause my mom said it should've been this way. I should've done it that way. Now, I'm doing it wrong.' And then I question everything," Scheana explained.
As a result, Brock — and eventually, Scheana herself — wanted her mom "to step away a little" so she could "regain [her] confidence."
"I think because I have been so fortunate and blessed to have my mom around full time to help whenever we need her — since literally the day Summer was born — I became dependent on how my mom does things," Scheana said. "And I think also with my OCD, I just like things routine in that sense and I like not having to worry when I know she is taken care of perfectly by mom because I know how my mom does things."
Scheana Shay's OCD and Postpartum OCD
Further opening up about both her OCD and Postpartum OCD, Scheana explained on the Vanderpump Rules After Show, "I just think my OCD did a number on me this year. I've had OCD my whole life, but then throw a baby in on top of it [and] postpartum OCD is just like a whole other level."
"The intrusive thoughts aren't just about myself or my husband or my family or things in life — [they're] now about my kid and something happening to her," Scheana continued. "It's not completely debilitating, but in my mind sometimes it is."
Thankfully, today, she's doing a lot better. "By spending more time alone with Summer (I took her to Disneyland by myself!) and just doing all these things through exposure therapy, I started to feel more confident in my decisions as a mom," Scheana shared. "And when I am alone with her, I'm like, no one can tell me if I'm doing something wrong. And even if I am, it's like, you know what? I think this is the best decision and I have to be confident in that."
Where Scheana Shay and Brock Davies' Relationship Stands Today
So is Scheana and Brock's relationship doing better today? The couple is currently vacationing in Amsterdam with Summer Moon, and they're of course documenting the trip on their respective Instagrams.
In the flurry of snapshots that have been shared thus far, the family can be seen traversing the cobblestone streets of the Netherlands, taking in all the sights and trying out different foods and drinks.
