Bravo fans have watched Marlo Hampton's life change dramatically since taking on her "Munty" role to care for her nephews, Michael and William. While it's been an emotional journey for Marlo and the boys, their love for each other always seems to prevail, which was on full display on the Season 15 premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Marlo Shares an Update on Raising Her Nephews
On the May 7 episode (Episode 1, Season 15 of RHOA), Marlo discussed her plans to try a new parenting style for the boys. After enjoying a delicious taco dinner, Marlo and her nephews received a visit from a guest. “Recently, the boys and I have been seeing a life coach,” Marlo said in a confessional. She explained how the life coach has been a positive force in their lives and has taught her “how to parent.”
During their family meeting, one topic that came up was when Marlo briefly sent the boys to live with their aunt last season. Marlo admitted it was “one mistake” of hers, but William intervened to say it was partially their fault as he and his brother were going through a difficult time. The remark touched Marlo, and she immediately hugged her younger nephew.
“Just know I love you… I want the best for you,” Marlo told William. Following Marlo’s heart-to-heart moment with her younger nephew, the life coach questioned the trio about their family’s mission statement that represents who they are. Michael stepped up to the plate to share the message they came up with.
“We are a family that comes together when the time is needed,” Michael told their life coach. He continued, “And we are a family that loves each other, and we always have each other back.”
Marlo Discusses Her Life Coach
Moments later, Marlo opened up about how much the life coach has impacted her life and how she raises her nephews.
“This new gent le parenting, I’m 50/50 with it… you have to listen,” she said in her interview. “So, it’s just I feel they respect me more and I’m respecting them even more and that’s important to me.”
Marlo Shares an Upate on Her Sister
Also, in the episode, Marlo shared an update on her current family dynamics with Michael and William’s mother, noting that she hasn’t talked to her sister “in a few months” nor has she “been in contact with the boys” since being released from jail. Marlo was emotional as she talked about the unfortunate situation, but she did clarify that her bond with her nephews is “forever.”
