Of Course Mandy Moore's This Is Us Co-Stars Had the Most Hearwarming Reactions to Her Engagement
It'll have you grabbing for some tissues.
The stars of This Is Us are basically like one big, happy family in real life, so of course they had the sweetest things to say after the news broke last week that Mandy Moore, who plays Pearson matriarch Rebecca on the show, got engaged to musician Taylor Goldsmith.
As you can imagine, Moore is ecstatic to marry her boyfriend of two years. "Mandy is so happy since she got engaged," Chrissy Metz, who plays the daughter of Moore's character, Kate Pearson, on This Is Us told The Daily Dish at the Television Industry Advocacy Awards in Los Angeles Saturday.
In fact, Moore's This Is Us co-stars may have actually broken the news of her engagement (Moore has yet to publicly comment on it). Chris Sullivan, who plays Toby in the series, confirmed the news of Moore's engagement to ET last week, saying that she shared it with the cast over their "family text chain." "I was just in the studio with her her boyfriend, well now fiance, Taylor. He didn't say a word! He seemed a little effervescent, but he's always pretty effervescent... I know him very well," Sullivan told ET. "He's quickly becoming one of my favorite people, and he and Mandy are an incredible couple."
Jon Huertas, who plays Miguel on This Is Us, also expressed his excitement over the big news during an interview with ET. "I think it's amazing. Good for her. I'm happy for her," he shared. "Taylor is an amazing guy. I love him so much. I love Mandy so much. I'm really happy that they're going to be joining the club!"
Justin Hartley also shared with ET that Moore's fiancé is "amazing." "They're amazing together, and she’s wonderful, of course," the actor who plays Kevin Pearson on This Is Us said. "So anytime you can be around someone that finds happiness like that, and they found happiness in each other, I'm a huge fan of that.”
Sterling K. Brown, who plays Randall Pearson on This Is Us, also gushed about the impending nuptials. “Hugs and kisses and all love. She sent it on our text thread when she showed us the ring, and we were all so excited for her," he told ET. "Taylor’s such a great guy, and they’re so beautiful together. I couldn’t be happier for her.”
Moore showed off her engagement ring on the red carpet of the Emmys Sunday night while wearing a black-and-white strapless Carolina Herrera gown.
