Louie Shares an Update on His Marriage to Teresa After RHONJ Season 13
The RHONJ husband said he and his wife are living their “best life together.”
It’s no secret that the first year of marriage can be a roller-coaster ride, as the exciting new chapter comes with many life changes that are often uncomfortable and downright maddening. Bravo fans got a firsthand look at this following the events of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13, which saw Teresa Giudice preparing to tie the knot with Luis “Louie” Ruelas.
While the couple seemingly ended the season in newlywed bliss, they found themselves in a series of feuds with family and friends. But despite the drama-packed and admittedly “frustrating” season, the husband and wife appear to be going strong.
“Living our best life together,” Louie wrote in a June 17 Instagram. “Love [and] Adore you [Teresa].”
The post showed the Bravo couple in dressy-casual looks as they stood poolside against a beautiful sunset backdrop. Louie and Teresa posed for the picture at the Edition Hotel while attending RiseCon 2023, an entrepreneurship event that took place in Tampa, Florida.
Teresa took to the comments section shortly after and echoed Louie’s sentiment: “Love living life with you,” she wrote.
Teresa and Louie face family conflict
The Jersey couple got married in August 2022, about two years after they started dating. Their wedding, which was featured in the RHONJ special Teresa Gets Married, appeared to put even more strain on Teresa’s relationship with her brother, Joe Gorga, and his wife, RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga. As shown in the special, the Gorgas chose to skip Teresa’s wedding after they got into a heated exchange over infidelity rumors. The squabble was further discussed at Season 13’s three-part reunion, where Teresa and Louie were pressed on a number of controversial topics, including a failed family business deal known as “pizza gate.”
Teresa and Louie also addressed the drama during the May 16 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. The couple was asked about an explosive scene in the season finale in which Louie revealed he’d hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on the cast. Louie, who was sitting in the WWHL audience, walked back the claim and insisted he had been speaking out of frustration.
“I was at the end of my rope,” he told host Andy Cohen. “It was a long season. Frustrating. You know, trying to get married.”
Teresa dishes on her and Louie’s blended family
Although there’s heavy tension with the Gorgas, Teresa made it clear there’s nothing but love between her immediate family and Louie’s. She told People magazine that her daughters — Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana — have “embraced” their stepdad as well as his sons, Louie Jr. and Nicholas.
“It’s beautiful,” Teresa said about their blended family. “Little Louie hangs out with the girls all the time. They go out together… and of course Nicholas too.”
She continued: “I love his family so much. What I have with him is what I have always wanted and more… I love the way he is with my daughters, the man he is, the father he is to his sons. Just everything.”
