Lala Kent Explains Her Changed Feelings Toward Sandoval: “We Should Reserve the Right to Evolve”
Lala and Tom Sandoval give new details on the "productive conversation" about their friendship in the Vanderpump Rules After Show.
Ariana Madix has made it clear that she "will not have mutual friends" with her ex Tom Sandoval following their tumultuous split, but on Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Episode 9, Lala Kent made an effort to forge a new path forward with Tom and explained why.
During the March 26 episode, Lala, Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, and James Kennedy met for mocktails. In their conversation, Lala admitted she felt "a little bad" for Tom when he unsuccessfully tried to talk to Ariana about their house situation the night before.
"I know how it feels to have someone hold you hostage to your past," Lala said. "Or their version of it."
The chat ended with Sandoval inviting Lala to come to his house the next day for a breath-work and self-improvement session. "In a way, it seems less about reconnecting and more about actually building something new," Tom explained in an episode interview. Although Lala declined to participate, she did go to have a one-on-one conversation with Sandoval.

After a "vulnerable" talk about their pasts and issues they have had in their friendship, Lala and Sandoval emerged from the conversation in a positive place.
Lala Kent explains why she wanted to move forward with Tom Sandoval
"We should reserve the right to evolve and f—k what anyone else says," Lala declared in an interview. "And you know what? Let's say he is bullsh-tting us all. He's the one who has to sleep with himself. It doesn't affect my life. I sleep real nice at night."
Ultimately, Lala explained to Sandoval, "You and what you did, that is not my fight. I now have to go into, this is what I want, this is what I feel good about, and I did feel good about coming here and having this conversation with you and letting you know that this is good for me."
Lala later told Ariana about the moment, explaining, "[I] had the most productive conversation that I've had with Tom in all of my years of knowing him."
Ariana didn't seem thrilled. "Very cool, Lala. Very cool," she said sarcastically in an interview. "Don't know if I really buy it, but cool."

In the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 After Show video above, Lala and Sandoval shared new details on their chat. "I think that both Lala and I were very defensive [in the past], and I think we both sort of passed judgment on each other in ways, but it felt nice to just take a step back and think positively of somebody," Tom explained.
Lala noted that while she wasn't looking to become best friends with Sandoval, she was glad they could get to a peaceful place.
"It wasn't really about, like, let's move forward and be homies and see where this goes," she said. "It's like, I want you to know that I recognize you're a person, I know how it feels to like f-ck up and wear something for a really long time because you've made me wear things for a really long time, so let's just like call it a day on that. I'm not gonna hold you to your past. Please don't hold me to mine, and let's just move forward where we can be cordial and civilized."
