Jamie Lynn Spears' Surprise Tribute for Britney Spears Was a Truly Twinning Performance
The pop star's younger sister caused double takes when she stepped on stage at the Radio Disney Music Awards.
Britney Spears expected her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears to present her with Radio Disney Music Awards' first-ever Icon Award this weekend, but she was truly surprised to see her singing her 2011 hit "Till the World Ends" onstage as the finale of a tribute performed with Kelsea Ballerini, Hailee Steinfeld, and Sofia Carson. Britney looked thrilled as she clapped along with her mom and sons Preston, 11, and Jayden, 10 (who shot footage of their aunt on his phone), and Jamie Lynn looked eerily like Britney.
"She is my friend, my hero, my favorite pop star of all time and everyone else's, and the best sister a girl could ever have," Jamie Lynn gushed as she presented Britney with her RDMA.
Jamie Lynn, who is nine years younger than her sister, was always considered to be Britney's mini-me. But now the 26-year-old, a mother in her own right, could easily be mistaken for her double. If Britney was thinking like the average viewer did when they saw that performance, she might have wondered if she now has an awesome replacement that could perform for her if she's ever inclined to skip her Vegas revue.
"She's always been my #ICON," Jamie Lynn tweeted today. But is she ready to be an understudy?
