Gretchen Rossi is opening up about her health, and sharing some behind-the-scenes details on her relationship with her longtime beau Slade Smiley. In a recent Instagram post, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum updated her followers on how Slade has supported her through some difficult times.

Gretchen Rossi shares an update on her health and calls Slade Smiley her "rock"
In her January 16 post, Gretchen shared a photo of herself and Slade, all bundled up in a snowy locale. But the real warmth came from her caption, which described how grateful she is for her longtime fiancé. (See her proposal to him in the clip above!)
"Appreciation post for this guy right here," she began. "Social media typically shows the good stuff in our lives, but the last few months unfortunately I have been dealing with some health issues and this guy has been my rock. I feel so blessed to have him by my side as I navigate through this difficult season. I’ve been in a lot of pain and am still trying to figure out everything that is going on, but the waiting process is never easy or fun."
She added: "He has kept my spirits up when I have been down, he has kept me calm when my brain goes to worst case scenario, he has prayed over me, [and] he has been Super Dad (as if he wasn’t already) but even more so [and] I am just so very grateful. This brings me to why I am doing this post, I think it’s important to also use social media to help share lessons you have learned along the way. Especially when faced with adversity."
Gretchen continued: "They say choosing your partner wisely is one of the most important decisions of your life and it couldn’t be more evident when times like these come up. So today I wanted to remind everyone out there who is looking for their life partner that it’s not just about the good times but it’s about finding someone who will really show up when the rough times hit. That’s really when you see a person's true character. Thank you babe for loving me whether I am my cheerful happy self everyday or if I am in pain and struggling. You are such a blessing in my life and so many others that get to call you a friend. You show up no matter what, and you love hard."
Slade Smiley shares a message for Gretchen Rossi
In the comments, Slade responded with a message for Gretchen and their daughter Sky.
"You and Sky are my everything," he wrote. "I love you both unconditionally and as a family, there isn’t anything we can’t do together. I love you sweetie, you have been so strong. I know you’re in pain most days but most people wouldn’t know it. But we will find out the issue and get it handled, I can promise you that."
He added: "You’re the most incredible mommy to Sky and the most incredible wifey, life partner, friend that ever existed. You are so perfect for me, only our Heavenly Father could have greater such a wonderful and loving creature. I will love you for eternity sweetie and we will always be together forever no matter what. All my love, S."
