Emily Simpson and her husband Shane Simpson have some very exciting career news. The Real Housewives of Orange County couple and lawyers are using their knowledge of the law and applying it to an outlet for everyone to listen to — a brand new, weekly podcast.

Both Emily and Shane took to Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 10, where they announced that they have started a brand new podcast seriesLegally Brunette with Emily Simpson & Shane Simpson.

The couple will be breaking down different legal cases and true crime stories each week, providing their perspective as lawyers to each case.

Emily's fellow RHOC cast member, Tamra Judge, was instrumental in getting the podcast off the ground, as it will air every Tuesday on Tamra's Two T's in a Pod podcast feed. "Your favorite couple is teaming up to bring you...Legally Brunette!" they wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, announcing their big news.

The couple briefly introduced the podcast at the top of Tuesday's debut episode, hinting at what's to come from the future of the program. "Hi guys," Emily said at the start of the episode. "Welcome to our first episode of Legally Brunette."

"I felt like the best co-host for kind of like a pop culture slash legal podcast would be with my husband, Shane Simpson," she continued.

Is Emily Simpson a practicing lawyer?

Emily practiced law for many years in California and Utah, working primarily in copyright law and family law. However, she's now a stay at home mom to her three kids.

And while she doesn't practice, Emily does still keep her law license active in both Utah and California in case she wants to eventually. "I earned it, I have it, it's a part of me. And I can always use it," she stated to The Daily Dish. "Just cause I choose not to right now in my life, because I want to be the best mom that I can be, doesn't mean that when my kids get a little bit older and they drive and they can do things on their own, that that's not something that I could go back to."

"I think women are really powerful in the law field," Emily added. "At least that's how I experienced it. They're few and far between, compared with how many men there are, but I always felt like women attorneys were just a force to be reckoned with."

What does Shane Simpson do for a living?

Shane is also a lawyer, who works as an attorney for a firm in Orange County specializing in worker's compensation. Although Shane is also a licensed lawyer in Utah, it took him quite a few tries to pass the California bar exam, which was a hot topic on previous episodes of RHOC.

During an April appearance on Bravo's Hot Mic Podcast, Emily admitted that Shane's struggles with passing the bar put a strain on their relationship. "That was a lot with filming, with young children, you know finances, [and] not working," Shane said during the episode. "It was just a lot to deal with at the same time."
