Chrissy Teigen Offers to Pay McKayla Maroney’s Possible $100K Fine for Speaking Out About Abuse
The gymnast faces a hefty fine if she testifies against former team doctor Larry Nassar.
Chrissy Teigen has offered to pay a potential six-figure fine that a U.S. Olympic gymnast is rumored to have hanging over her head if she speaks out against former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, who has been accused of abuse by a staggering 140 female athletes, including 2016 Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles.
The model mom posted a Daily Mail headline stating that Biles' gold medal-winning teammate McKayla Maroney "faces $100K fine if she speaks at Larry Nassar sentencing after USA Gymnastics made her sign an NDA ordering her to stay quiet about abuse as part of her $1.25M settlement."
"The entire principle of this should be fought - an NDA to stay quiet about this serial monster with over 140 accusers, but I would be absolutely honored to pay this fine for you, McKayla," wrote Teigen.
This kind gesture earned Teigen some well-deserved praise on Twitter:
Maroney has not responded publicly as of press time.
