Blake Lively's Painful-Sounding Injury Caused Production to Halt Indefinitely on Her Latest Film
The actress' surgery "did not go as planned."
There must be something in the air! First, Carrie Underwood took a nasty tumble that required her to get wrist surgery. And now, our girl Blake Lively is facing down an injury of her own.
On the set of her latest flick The Rhythm Section, the actress (and expert hubby troll) badly injured her hand while participating in a stunt. Ouch! When the incident occurred back in December, producers released an official statement to share that filming had been temporarily suspended. At the time, the movie's main players hoped that production would resume "as soon as possible." But alas, it looks like Lively won't be back on set as soon as everyone had hoped.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, inside sources have revealed that Lively's hand surgery "didn't go as planned." Now, the poor actress will have to undergo a second surgery — and take some time to recover — before filming can begin again.
Blake Lively is seen filming The Rhythm Section on January 14, 2018 in New York, New York.
Allegedly, producers don't know exactly when shooting will recommence. But, some speculate that it could take as long as five months! In the meantime, Lively is holding up like a trooper — and even making a hand cast look glam. In a recent Instagram post, a bit of white bandage was visible on the actress' right hand:
For now, The Rhythm Section is set to be released on February 22, 2019. And while we're eager to see the flick, we're more eager for Lively to get well soon.
