New Below Deck Sailing Yacht Stew Ashley Marti on Flirting with Gary King: "1000 Percent Cringe"
The Parsifal III yachtie also reveals the Below Deck Med alum she is "really good friends with."
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 premiere gave us some serious deja vu when it aired on February 21. Gary King was once again caught locking lips with another crew member on the first day of charter — but this time, it was new stew Ashley Marti who had initiated the flirting and kissing.
However, as Ashley reflected on the moment during her February 21 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (clip above), she admitted that it was "1000 percent cringe" seeing herself telling the first mate that it was OK to kiss her that first night.
Ashley was actually met with quite the choice at the start of this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht as Tom Pearson also expressed his interest in the third stew early on. But it was Gary's maturity over 23-year-old Tom that ultimately attracted Ashley to the first mate.
Andy Cohen asked Ashley on WWHL, "If not for Tom's age, would you have chosen him over Gary?" In response, she said, "I don't know. Gary's like Tarzan. He's got this whole Tarzan vibe that I like."
In addition to Gary's man bun, Ashley also said that she found Gary's sense of humor attractive. "He's funny," she said on WWHL. "He makes me laugh, and that's all I can ask for."
Ashley confessed that she did watch last season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht as Gary found himself wrapped up in a love triangle with Alli Dore and Sydney Zaruba. "It clearly didn't impact my view," Ashley concluded, to which Andy replied, "And you still went [for it]. All right."
It sounds like Gary's kiss didn't leave much of an impression on Ashley, either. When asked to describe the smooch in three words, Ashley replied, "Three words? That's too many words. It was average."
Still, Ashley said that she has no regrets when it comes to pursuing Gary over Tom that first night.
Not only had Ashley watched Below Deck Sailing Yacht before appearing on the show, but she also knows a familiar yachtie. "I am really good friends with Bobby Giancola from Below Deck Med," she revealed in the below clip of the WWHL After Show. "And he definitely gave me a bit of advice."
After Andy asked Ashley to elaborate on Bobby's words of wisdom, she paused before ultimately sharing, "Don't screw the crew."
