Ashley Darby Makes a Big Clarification about GnA and Her Career (EXCLUSIVE)
RHOP's Ashley Darby is "expanding" the business she shares with castmate Gizelle Bryant.
On Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant launched their line of athleisure, GnA.
After hosting a fashion show on RHOP and debuting their initial line of tank tops, hats, socks, and T-shirts, Gizelle and Ashley have decided to pivot their brand to more of a wellness one.
During an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish on November 12, Ashley explained why the ladies decided to change direction.
"We're expanding on what wellness means. Initially, we were just doing it from an apparel perspective, but now we've decided to do more community engagement and involvement and also some activism. That's why we decided to also do GnA fusion," she said.
Do Ashley and Gizelle still sell apparel under GnA?
Ashley told The Daily Dish, "We haven't really abandoned the apparel right now, it's just not a main priority. It's very costly, and neither of us really wants to put in the capital at this point. For both of us, we're both going through some transitions, so we just don't necessarily want to put in as much capital as it would require to do an actual line now. But we're gonna table it and do GnA fusion. "
"We're venturing out and we want to be more encompassing and holistic, not just like, ‘What are you wearing?’ Your booty needs to look good in a pair of leggings, but also you need to feel good on the inside too," the mom of two continued. "So it's expanding in a way."
As for what causes the business partners are focusing on, Ashley said that the National Brain Tumor Society was "a big one" for them because Gizelle's dad, Curtis Graves, passed away following a brief battle with brain cancer in 2023 (and it's also the cause the ladies raised money for at the GnA event featured on the Season 9 premiere).
Ashley Darby reveals what's next with GnA Fusion
Ashley and Gizelle are now doing "wellness events and partnering with different organizations" through GnA.
"We reach out to local vendors in DC [and] get involved with local entrepreneurs who want to sponsor and donate their funds and also their time and services to the event. We also want to be interactive. There has to be a fitness component, and an education component," Ashley told The Daily Dish. "People to really learn what it means to be quote unquote, healthy. And that word just has so many meanings. But ultimately, it's just really being the best version of yourself, right?"
