Ariana Madix Shares What’s Next for Her and Boyfriend Daniel Wai
The Vanderpump Rules cast member revealed new details about her long-distance romance, including whether she would move to New York.
Back in June, Scheana Shay revealed that she was "obsessed" with Ariana Madix's new beau, Daniel Wai — and it looks like she isn't the only one who is.
Ariana appeared on the August 25 episode of Scheana's podcast, and the Vanderpump Rules castmates both gushed about the trainer. Ariana also shared some insight into what's next for her and Daniel in their relationship.
The Latest on Ariana Madix and Daniel Wai
On the podcast, Ariana opened up about some of the qualities she admires the most in her boyfriend, who she met at a mutual friend's wedding in Mexico following her breakup from Tom Sandoval.
"He's a very grounding, calming, positive energy. He's always trying to help with things," Ariana said.
For example, she explained that Daniel recently took the time to call her credit card company, telling her, "I'm going to call them, I know you want to do everything yourself, but I'm going to just go ahead and do it.'"
Though things are going well for Daniel and Ariana, the Vanderpump Rules cast member is taking the relationship one step at a time.
"I feel like I just want to keep going towards things that are positive, and so, I'm just going to keep doing what makes me happy and going in that direction, or at least trying to," she continued on the podcast. "And he is someone who does bring a whole lot of happiness and really just calming and positive energy into my life, so I'm going to keep him around."
Ariana Madix's Future with Daniel Wai
At the moment, the Something About Her co-owner is in a long-distance relationship with the New York-based trainer. For now, the two have no plans to change that in the imminent future.
"I guess it's hard to predict, you know, even work-wise what's going to come in the next year or so. I'd love it if he moved out here, but he's born and raised in New York, so I can understand how that would be a huge adjustment..." Ariana said, adding that Daniel's family is also based in New York as well. "I wouldn't want to take him away from his family."
Ariana has lived in New York City before, but she's grown accustomed to her Los Angeles lifestyle.
"Moving back to New York for me sounds, oh god, it's so much harder... L.A. is just easier, and it's so beautiful all the time," she added. "It's kind of hard to beat."
Scheana Shay's Thoughts on Ariana Madix's Boyfriend
Scheana is still just as impressed with Daniel as she was back when she was first getting to know him.
"I just think he is such another light of positivity in your life," Scheana told her best friend on the podcast. "From the second I saw him on Instagram and then met him in person, I was like, 'Oh my god. Obsessed.' He just has the best energy."
Summer Moon's mom went on to say that she "can't even picture this guy in a bad mood, ever."
"He's just that person where you feel like [asking], 'Are you always happy?' Because he always just has the best energy [and] wants to make sure everyone else is having the best time," she said. "And I feel like it's so different from the past relationships you've been in."
The "Good as Gold" singer also noted that the trainer loves to "let [Ariana] shine" in their relationship.
"I feel like you guys just bring out the best in each other and I love to see it," Scheana said. "I love love, and I'm so happy for the two of you."
