Inside Ariana Madix's Boyfriend Daniel Wai's NYC Apartment Renovation (VIDEO)

The Vanderpump Rules boyfriend is showing off how handy he can be while giving a tour of his apartment in New York City.

By Casey Suglia

Ariana Madix and her boyfriend, Daniel Wai, are currently taking a bite out of the Big Apple. The Vanderpump Rules cast member is currently in New York City performing in her second run at Chicago on Broadway, while Daniel resides in New Yorj City full time. Although he has floated the idea of moving to Los Angeles, he is still doing long-distance with Ariana all while renovating his New York apartment in the meantime.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

Daniel has taken to his Instagram Feed over the past few weeks, where he posted videos documenting the renovation process of his studio apartment. The personal trainer showed off his bathroom, kitchen, and studio in the first video before completely ripping up the parquet floors and diving into renovations.

"Normally the floors aren't this easy to rip up, but they were really old floors," he explained as he tore up the flooring with his bare hands in the first video.

Daniel then took out the closet, ripped out the kitchen floors, painted the space, and laid down new flooring before heading into the second video documenting the process. Daniel then showed off how he installed his custom closet with sliding barn doors, and his shelving unit for storing his sneaker collection.

In the third video, Daniel documented the process of replacing all of the lights in his apartment. After starting with the hallway lights, he installed a chandelier in his bedroom."The hard part about this was this was actually a concrete ceiling," he explained in the video, so he had to use something new to secure them.

Judging by these videos, Daniel is a very handy person and it definitely shows. What can't this man do?

Ariana Madix explains why she and Daniel Wai continue to live in different places

Ariana appeared on VPR cast member Scheana Shay's podcast, Scheananigans with Scheana Shay, last year, where she discussed why her boyfriend is so hesitant to move out of NYC. "I'd love it if he moved out here, but he's born and raised in New York, so I can understand how that would be a huge adjustment," she said. "I wouldn't want to take him away from his family."

During VPR Season 11 Episode 14, the couple explained why being long distance works for them. "I feel like long distance has been really good for us in a lot of ways," Ariana told Daniel. "Because we've gotten to know each other just talking all the time."

"It's good and bad, right? I work so many jobs," Daniel explained. "I'm busy. I work seven days a week. But it sucks because I don't see you."
