Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper Talk Star Jones
Anderson is peeved she claimed him coming out was a ratings stunt.
Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper have known each other for 20+ years, and as you've seen when Anderson has made appearances on Watch What Happens Live, they're two peas in a pod and get along swimmingly. This time around though, Andy was on guest-host duty on Anderson's daytime talk show, and the two set their eyes on some comments made by Star Jones, who claimed that Anderson coming out as gay was done as a stunt to gain ratings.
Andy opened up the floor for Anderson to rant, and boy did he ever:
"Of all the way to boost ratings, If i was wanting to boost ratings, I would have waited to announce it on a 'very special episode" that would have been promoed for weeks and weeks, and there would have been commercials: "Anderson's huge announcement!" ... and instead I was in Africa on assignment for 60 Minutes, I sent an email to a friend of mine who put it on a website. I gave no interviews about it, I never talked about it ... suddenly Star Jones, who as memory serves ... I seem to recall her hocking her wedding every day to get free products when she was on The View ... and I seem to recall her lying about her gastric bypass surgery and making everyone else lie about it as well. So for her to suddenly emerge out of the shadows ... I couldn't believe it. And my mom was like 'Who is Star Jones?'

Anderson goes on to say that he even invited Star on the show to discuss the situation, "and she turned us down ... I would think she would want as much publicity as possible, given her penchant for wanting publicity."
Should she ever accept though, Andy can play moderator, according to Anderson.
