Do Albie and Chris Manzo Keep in Touch with Dina Manzo's Daughter Lexi Ioannou?
The Manzo'd with Childrenbrothers open up about their famous family drama.
Caroline Manzo's relationship with Dina Manzo has been strained for years. However, Caroline's sons, Albie and Chris Manzo, have never let whatever is going on between these sisters get in the way of supporting their cousin and Dina's only child, Lexi Ioannou. "All the cousins, we've always done a really good job of leaving parents stuff out of the way," Chris told The Daily Dish during an interview in New York City earlier this month. "The cousins in our family are crazy close."
In fact, Manzo'd with Children fans may recall that Lexi was a bridesmaid in Albie and Chris' sister Lauren Manzo Scalia's wedding to Vito Scalia in 2015, even if things weren't so great between their moms at the time. Dina also attended the wedding.
Neither of the Manzo brothers keep in touch with Dina today, but Chris said it's "not for any reason." And though the cousins in the family may not be physically close anymore since they're all grown up and doing their own thing, they'll always be there for one another, Chris explained. "Well, [Lexi] lives in a different part of the country, so we're not as close, but there's nothing that if Lexi were to call me tomorrow for, I wouldn't be willing to help her out with and all that," Chris said. "But that being said, I think Lauren and her are really close still. They talk all the time."
Chris added, "That's what I'm saying, there's no crazy Hatfield and McCoy thing; there's always been family BS, and I'm sure everyone can kind of get used to that. But I understand why people still ask, because it's something. You know, it's a thing."
Albie echoed Chris' sentiment during the same interview, saying that he understands why the fact that their family issues have remained unresolved has continued to spark interest from fans. "It's like anything else with the show [Manzo'd with Children]: Anything open-ended is something that I think we'll probably hear about forever," he told The Daily Dish.
Chris then joked, "When Albie and I stop talking, I think it'll be covered pretty well."
