Challenge: Create customized wigs or fashionable cuts and styles for prematurely balding women. Since lighter colored hair tends to make hair look thinner because the light passes through it, I decided to color my client's hair a nice rich, dark brown. After coloring, we took her length up to just above the shoulders and added lots of layers to help give her hair lots of movement and the fullness through the crown where she really needed it. A razored edge finishes the look and really gives the ends good texture. As for product - not much is needed because you don't want to weigh it down...a little bit of a sculpting wax on the ends to create added texture and a little throughout the crown for height. Use a finishing spray to set style. Materials Used: Color: Pravana 4.3/ 0 Volume developer. Cut: Shears for base cut and Razor for textured ends. Style: A bit of a light wax on the ends for texture and a bit in the crown for height, and a Finishing Spray.

Challenge: Create customized wigs or fashionable cuts and styles for prematurely balding women. Judi has had alopecia since she was 21 yrs of age. She has total and complete baldness. She has and wears, daily, a full custom wig system. Judi wanted an easy carefree style as well as color that was casual and sexy. She wanted a color that was different from black yet subtle and easy on the eye with a red tone. For this procedure I colored the uncut hair first then, cut the top in round layers and long layered the back from crown to nape, once the hair was dried. To achieve the perfect look for her, a large barrel curling iron was used throughout followed by a flat iron in some areas to give it a more textured and natural look. At finish slight point cut was done to further reduce some unwanted weight around the face.
