Meg Ryan Isn't Rushing to Get Married — and Neither Did These Very Happy Bravoleb Couples
Meg Ryan and her fiancé, John Mellencamp, are in great, loving company with these other couples who took their time before tying the knot.
Once Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp get married, the actress will be playing a new role: stepmom to Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' resident accountability coach. But Ryan has said she's in no real hurry to tie the knot.
"Yes, I’m going to get married at some point. But for now this engagement thing is a state of grace," she recently told Entertainment Tonight.
What's the hurry, anyway? We say take your time, enjoy the love, and do whatever you want to do at your own pace — just like these loving Bravoleb couples have done.
Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley
The Real Housewives of Orange County alums recently had their first child, daughter Skylar Gray, and even almost got married at the baby shower. Slade first proposed back way in 2013, but over the subsequent years, Gretchen blamed hectic schedules for them never setting a wedding date.
"We are committed [and] loyal to one another whether or not we have a marriage license!" she wrote in an Instagram post on their 10-year-anniversary. "And sometimes I think that speaks more volumes. Hey it’s worked out well for Goldie and Kurt [as well as] Oprah and Stedman! (But after 10 [years] together I call you my husband anyways. So it doesn’t really matter)."
Reza and Adam Farahan
The Shahs of Sunset realtor made the emotional decision to call off their original wedding in Season 4 when he realized he wasn't ready to be married just yet. They later wed in a more intimate ceremony with their closest friends in attendance, and Reza was happy they waited longer.
Reza said it did a lot for Adam's self-esteem: "His confidence level and comfort level have gone way up, like a mini Stella Got Her Groove Back situation," he told The Daily Dish. "He's like feeling himself now that he's Adam Farahan."
LeeAnne Locken and Rich Emberlin
The Real Housewives of Dallas' LeeAnne Locken and her now-husband Rich Emberlin, got hitched on April 27, 2019. Rich first popped the question to LeeAnne at the State Fair of Texas in 2017 after 10 years of dating, which viewers saw in Season 2 of RHOD. But they also unfortunately dealt with speculation as to why they then seemed to be stalling to set a wedding date, as well as rumors about Rich being unfaithful to LeeAnne during last season of RHOD.
We're looking forward to getting a glimpse of wedded bliss this season.
Josh Altman and Heather Bilyeu Altman
The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles couple, who now have two kids, postponed their original wedding back in October 2014, before getting married in April 2016.
"I think if we would have gotten married the first time, when we had our original wedding date, I honestly can say — and he agrees with me — that maybe we might not still be together or it would have just been a really, really difficult time for the first however long," she told The Daily Dish after they tied the knot. "I think us waiting and really taking our time and figuring out each other and what we want together and separately, and going through some of those issues that we had and talking them out before we got married, made us both assured that we wanted this and that we're lucky to have each other. It's only made us stronger."
