I recently wrote a story about empowering art for little kids, pieces that dole out silent but daily reminders to be kind, curious, and unique. Which got me thinking about, well, myself. That’s right, WHAT ABOUT ME? No, I don’t really need artwork urging me to chase my dreams, but a hilarious song lyric or badass movie quote greeting me every morning is right up my alley.
Typography wall art is having a major moment and while flowery words of encouragement are nice … I’m definitely more receptive to inspirational prose in the form rap lyrics from Drake (“Started from the bottom, now we’re here"), Biggie Smalls (“It was all a dream”), and Jay-Z (“Allow me to reintroduce myself”).
