Katherine Heigl Shares Post-Baby Bikini Photos of Her Weight Loss Transformation

Just in time for #TransformationTuesday, Katherine Heigl posted a seriously inspiring before-and-after photo collage on Instagram revealing her fitness journey, post-baby. To recap: the actress gave birth to her son Joshua last January. Now, more than a year later, she shared with her followers how she got back in shape after pregnancy — complete with bikini progress photos.
"It’s been almost 14 months since Joshua Jr was born and it has taken me about that long to really get back in shape," Heigel wrote on Instagram. As if that's not relatable enough, the method Heigel used isn't what we usually think of when we think of celebrity fitness. Instead of taking two-a-day Soulcycle classes or working with a trainer, Heigel says she achieved these incredible results using a fitness app on her phone and working out in her bedroom at home.
She wrote: "I found a fantastic app called #sweat that features several different #bbg programs you can choose from and makes it incredibly easy to do anywhere, which for me means in my bedroom at home!"
The Unforgettable actress used Kayla Itsines' Sweat with Kayla app to queue up the Instagram fitness star's Bikini Body Guide workouts (BBG for short). Even though it's done in 28 minutes, this workout is no joke: "I won’t lie, the workouts are real ass kickers but the progress I’ve made in only 5 short weeks has kept me motivated and inspired to keep going!" Heigel said.
But like Blake Lively, Heigl emphasized how important it was for her to take her time to get back into shape as a new mom. "I am so grateful I’ve had a full year to find those ab muscles and get my butt back up where it belongs and wasn’t forced by work to snap back into shape but it is time to make the strength, fitness and overall health of my body a priority," she said.
TBH, Heigl looks amazing in all three of her progress photos. But now that she's joined Kayla's #BBG army, she can definitely knock out burpees, jump squats, and push-ups with the best of them.
