Rubber Face Masks Are Crazy Weird...But Also Crazy Effective
They may look creepy, but the results are amazing.
There was once a time when we wouldn’t be caught dead sporting a face mask in front of anyone but our closest girlfriends. Now, thanks to a slew of new, really amazing masks on the market that actually work, they’ve become the ultimate bait for humorous (and sometimes creepy) selfies. And the new rubber mask trend may be the most eerie of them all.
While rubber masks have been a staple in Korean beauty for decades, the skincare treatment has recently gained a growing popularity in the United States. Earlier this year, renowned skincare line Dr. Jart+ released a new line of rubber masks, and they quickly became viral sensations. So of course, as the skincare lovers that we are, we had to see if this mask was more than just a weird photo opp.
For this week's episode of Trend Testers, our resident mask enthusiast and producer Megan Segura gave the Dr Jart+ Hydration Lover Rubber Mask a try. And she was certainly pleased with her glowing results as you can see in the video above. Differing from other face masks, the rubber barrier allows for a greater absorption of the skin-nourishing ingredients found within the serum, making rubber masks a must-try.
