Cindy Crawford Shared Footage From the First-Ever Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and Just Wow
The show has certainly come a long, long way.
The 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show filmed in Shanghai on November 20. And, though the glittering spectacle won't air until November 28, we have a good idea of what to expect from photos that have already surfaced. So, if you're expecting jaw-dropping lingerie, performances from the likes of Harry Styles, and a confetti-showered finale, you're in luck. But, the famous show didn't always have the massive production value that it does today. And if you don't believe us, let Cindy Crawford show you how things used to be.
On the same day that the show taped in China, the supermodel posted a throwback video that showcased footage from the first-ever Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which took place back in 1995. In the video, vintage Cindy is perched atop a horse instead of a glittering runway, and she's wearing a pretty sweet Western style that pairs a light denim button-down and a black cowboy hat. "You might want to turn on the cold shower, boys," she warns. (Only a Super could make ranch style look quite so sexy.)
The video goes on to show footage from the mid-nineties event. The pared-down white runway features models strutting out in silky lingerie sets and robes, but there's not a pair of towering wings — or a two-million-dollar bra, or a world-famous pop star — in sight. Plus, the lighting is of the regular old hotel-ballroom variety.
Take a peek at the some old-school snaps, below.
To caption her post, Crawford wished all the angels a "fun day" in Shanghai. We have a feeling that, just like us, the model will tune into the big event when it finally airs. But this time, she won't even need to don her riding boots.
