Lala Kent Reveals Her Trick to Pulling Off a Matte Lip, Even If You Have Dry Lips
This is how the Vanderpump Rules beauty gets a flawless application every time.
Ever since Lala Kent made her debut in Season 4 of Vanderpump Rules, the singer has become a regular source of beauty inspo for us. Everything from her sharp cat eye liner to her blinding highlight is always on point, and she’s even blessed us with a line of her own beauty products. So, when we saw Lala go live on Instagram to reveal some of her best beauty tips and tricks, we quickly stopped everything we were doing to pay close attention.
Being the lip queen that she is, one of the first tricks the Give Them Lala Beauty founder revealed was her key to the perfect matte lip. Now, we know that a matte lipstick may sound simple, but when not applied properly things can easily go south. Have you ever put on a matte lip color only to feel it slowly start to crack and become a flaky mess after an hour? Well, our girl Lala knows just the hack for a smooth finish that won’t budge — and it’s all about preparation.
During the video, Lala revealed that she always plans her makeup looks ahead of time. For example, if she knows she's going to wear a matte lip the next day, she'll prep her lips with a heavy dose of moisture the night before. To hydrate her lips, Lala uses Burt’s Bees Moisturizing Lip Balm. “The more moisturizer you can get on your lips before putting on matte lip gloss, the better,” she shared. In addition to moisturizing, Lala also revealed that she likes to use a warm towel to rub off any dead skin from her lips.
Another product Lala stated she loves to use to moisturize her lips is good ol’ Vaseline, but she doesn’t just use it on her lips. “I swear by Vaseline. I’m the b---h that goes to bed with vitamin E all over my face and Vaseline on my lips and around the eyes up to the brow bone,” she said. She's especially fond of the travel-sized Vaseline jars.
