Carla Hall Landed a New TV Gig After The Chew's Cancellation
Fans want the Bravo's Top Chef alum to become a regular.
The final episode of The Chew aired on June 15 after being canceled in the wake of mounting sexual misconduct allegations against host Mario Batali, leaving his co-hosts Carla Hall, Michael Symon, and Clinton Kelly without a home on television. So fans were delighted to see that Carla, a Bravo's Top Chef alum, hosted a cooking segment on the first episode of The Chew's replacement on ABC, GMA Day.
On Monday, Carla appeared on GMA Day and showed the world how to make a wine can chicken recipe. Viewers took to social media to ask GMA Day to make Carla a regular on the show, which would be particularly great to see given that her new soul food cookbook Carla Hall’s Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration comes out on October 23 via Harper Wave.
"The reason I wanted to write this book was to educate people that there is a difference between everyday soul food and celebration foods, and to get people to really stop thinking about just the celebration soul foods like mac and cheese, and greens, and fried chicken," she told People of the book's mission.
