Padma Lakshmi Celebrates Embracing Being a Woman Online and In Real Life

Padma Lakshmi just turned 48 this weekend, and she celebrated her birthday with a message of confidence (and a stand against ageism) that's majorly inspiring. The Bravo's Top Chef host has been posting stunning bikini photos all summer long (from Italy's scenic beaches and beyond) but on her birthday, she added an introspective caption about why she feels better about her body than she ever has before.

How to Watch

Watch Top Chef on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

"It takes time to develop as a person. Sometimes in the entertainment industry I don’t think we give women that chance. Men become distinguished and women become 'old news.' In truth, I feel better about my body now, even after breastfeeding, gravity, etc. than I did in my 20’s. I’m not riddled with insecurity as I was. I eat well and bust my butt in the gym," Padma wrote. "My home life and my career are doing just fine and I’ve learned to be thankful for what I have rather than focus on what I don’t. To many more years of learning and growing."

That is perspective we need to take to heart and will absolutely toast to: hope you had a very happy birthday, Padma!
