Shannon Beador on Microneedling

From Kim Kardashian West to the characters of Odd Mom Out and The Real Housewives of Orange County's Shannon Beador, beauty buffs from coast to coast have been testing out a bloody beauty craze. Microneedling, which is also known as a Platelet Rich Plasma Facial — or a Vampire Facial, if you prefer your spa treatments fantastical — is said to stimulate collagen production (watch the video above to see Shannon talk about her experience). How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

RHOC pal Kelly Dodd is the latest to test out the prickly trend. And, let's just say, she was a bit taken aback by some of its immediate after-effects. The beauty took to Instagram with her trademark candor on January 24, and shared a snap of her bleeding face after testing out the treatment. (Don't worry: this is all par for the microneedling course. The treatment causes "micro-injuries" on purpose.)

Kelly captioned the pic with a hilarious, straight-to-the-chase caption: "I look like a bloody mess!"

The end result of micro needling . I look like a bloody mess!

But, all joking aside, the Orange County mom is beyond pleased with her results. Posting a bit of a less bloody picture to follow her first snap, Kelly called the treatment "a miracle," and assured followers that it's actually pain-free.

This just proves it: Kelly puts blood, sweat, and tears — or, at least blood — into looking that good.
