RHOC's Shannon Beador Looks Fab Due to Exercise and This Nonsurgical Treatment
The #RHOC pal got a facial treatment using her own blood.
Shannon Beador’s self-care routine has been a hot topic during this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. The Housewife has openly discussed the emotional struggles that caused her to gain weight, and let viewers in on her journey to better health. The always-gorgeous Shannon looks more radiant than ever, and recently sat down with The Lookbook to chat all things health and beauty.
In addition to her new diet and workout regimen, Shannon is also testing the waters with beauty treatments that don’t involve going under the knife. Recently, the Housewife decided to test out Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy, a non-invasive procedure meant to tighten the skin, produce collagen, and reduce wrinkles.
“I’ve had Botox, I don’t know if it’s four or fives times in life," the 53-year-old told The Lookbook. "I want to age gracefully but also, if I can, get a little bit of help that’s natural. While Tamra [Judge] looks amazing, I don’t want to have the facelift—it scares me," Shannon said, referring to her pal's recent lower facelift.
"So, I went to Dr. Ambe’s office, where Tamra got her facelift, and they offer this PRP where they withdraw blood from you, they centrifuge your blood, and they take the yellow plasma of your blood—which they call liquid gold—and they inject it in certain parts of your face. And then they put it on and they microneedle,” she explained. During microneedling, hundreds of tiny needles pinprick the face, causing "micro-injuries" which prompt the skin to stimulate collagen production.
While the sound of needles on your face may sound discomforting to say the least, Shannon claims that the treatment was painless. “They put numbing cream on you, so it’s not that bad,” she said. “It’s just a little prick here and there.”
So what were Shannon’s final thoughts on this surgery-free treatment? "I will say I notice a little bit of tightening here. So I’m going to get it done again. I think it’s good,” she said. You can see just how great she looks in the interview above.
