Sonja Morgan Explains Her Recent Nonsurgical Facelift "to Tighten the Trout Mouth"
The Real Housewives of New York City beauty recently underwent a cosmetic procedure that we just had to know more about.
When she stopped by Bravo HQ the other day, Sonja Morgan made us stop and stare. The Real Housewives of New York pal's skin was smooth and radiant, and we had to sit her down to ask about that glow.
"Oh this thing? Oh my God. This is called Thermi," the cabarlesque performer told The Lookbook. "I went to [New York plastic surgeon] Dr. Z. Paul Lorenc. Jasen Kaplan does my makeup and he’s been trying to get me to see this guy forever."
Sonja added that she got the service "to tighten the trout mouth. You don’t want trout mouth — the marionette lines. But people really don’t do facelifts these days until maybe [they're in their] seventies."
Interesting ... We had to do some digging. Thermi, it turns out, is a manufacturer of temperature-controlled radiofrequency technology. The tech is used in various treatments that purport to tone targeted areas of the body, minimize frown lines, and — of course — tighten up wrinkles in the face.
Here's how Sonja described the process, which heats the skin's surface using a temperature-controlled hand piece: "They put the rods in and heat it up, and that makes collagen, and then it tightens." Science these days!
The RHONY pal added that there is a bit of a recovery process, though not much. "[My face] is a little puffy right now," she said, adding that she was also experiencing some numbness. "I think it looks fine." And for the record, she was looking fine!
