No Wannabes Allowed on the Walk of Fame

Yolanda comments on who actually has talent in this world, and thinks she has a solution for Lisa if Pandora moves to NYC.

By Yolanda Hadid

Hello Bravo lovers, I hope you had an incredible holiday weekend with your family. Mine was fantastic. . .just way too much food. No more turkey, mashed potatoes, and pies for this family for a while.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

It was such a nice surprise to see that this episode didn’t have much drama and most of it was focused on important things in life. Woo Hoo! this is my kind of housewife party.

I am excited for you to finally meet two of the most important people in my life. My father died when I was seven years old, so my brother Leo and I were raised by our extraordinary single mom, Ans, who dedicated her life to both of us. Our life was extremely humble so at an early age she taught us to work hard with great pride and integrity. Getting out of my little town in Holland to provide for them was one of my greatest accomplishments.

Watching myself goof around with my brother just makes me so happy because no one knows me like that guy does, and even if I don't see him for a year, our banter continues exactly where it left off. People probably perceive me as a bit boring, because I am a little slow in the humor department but it’s just hard for me to get jokes when they’re told in English. I am always the last one to get it. Still today after speaking English for 30 years, I cannot translate all the fun little words I use in my own language -- and boy do I enjoy my sense of humor in Dutch! Nothing better than a good laugh and giggling over a whole bunch of nothing.

Anyway, even though my whole family lives far away in Holland, it has always been a priority for me to keep them part of the most important moments in our family and my personal life. Gigi's graduation and David’s star ceremony were two of them. Unfortunately, my sister-in-law Lisette and my nieces and nephew were stuck in school and unable to join us.

I had never been to a star ceremony celebration but, as you can imagine, we had an incredible day celebrating my husband and his 40 years of accomplishments in the music industry.

To me, he is my love, the extraordinary man that nursed me through the darkest year of my life while battling Lyme Disease. But today we are celebrating the music genius and the extensive body of work he has created for the world to enjoy. He is one of the most brilliant musical minds of our time and has created the soundtrack to our lives. After 16 Grammys, one Emmy award, a Golden Globe and three Oscar nominations, in 2010 he was inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and I was just so excited to be out of bed and by his side to see him get his well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was a very exciting and memorable day spent with our big, unconventional family and a few close friends. Thanks for letting me brag about my hubby for just a little bit.

Sorry Lisa, but neither Giggy, you, or I will ever be considered for a star or nominated for being a Beverly Hills housewife. With all kidding aside though, I actually might be wrong about that. I guess these days, wannabes become famous for all kinds of crazy things. But at the end of the day we are all a bunch of clowns running around to make a living. It’s sad that people forget sometimes that there is a whole legitimate world of artists and actors out there that work their entire life, every day on perfecting their craft, but yet don't get any acknowledgement for their extraordinary commitment to their profession.

Some might be working on being famous but my husband still works seven days a week to stay relevant in the music industry and trump his own lifetime achievements. He is always humble and understated, which is a quality I truly admire and respect in him everyday.

OK, sorry enough about my love, back to the episode. . .It's hard to really know what goes on in Beverly Hills behind all the smoke and mirrors and lives full of pretend, but trust me when I say we all struggle with all the same issues you do.

Kyle and Mauricio seem great and are dealing with their crisis close to their beautiful family.

It was nice to see the Richards sisters together and united to celebrate Kimberly's graduation. She looked stunning and what a great accomplishment for her. It’s such a beautiful moment and milestone for us mommies to experience.

Nice to see some family time at the Vanderpumps. I was surprised by the lack of support for Pandora's husband Jason’s possible move to NY. Despite the distance, wouldn't they want their daughter to have a husband that is self-sufficient and out in the world making a name for himself? Selfishly, we all want our children to stay close but that’s just not reality. Expecting a guy with such great education to stay around to sell toilet paper just to keep their daughter close to home seems like a sign of entitlement. . .Maybe a little presumptuous if you ask me.

It reminded me of my favorite poet Kahlil Gibran’s writings about children. Your children are not your children, they are sons and daughters of life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, and though they are with you they belong not to you. But with that said, as one of Bravo's best stars, I am sure they would love to transfer Lisa to The Real Housewives of New York and problem solved!

I enjoyed seeing Carlton run to the doc with the cat and Brandi cleaning dog poop because that’s just part of all our lives. Just because we live in Beverly Hills, we have no special exemptions for that sort of thing. Just last Sunday I sat on my knees for two hours cleaning diarrhea from my dog Lucky trying to save my beige carpet in the living room. Not fun but part of real life!

Brandi and Carlton having a sleepover and making out in the hot tub is great. although it’s information I would choose to keep private and confidential.

Anyway, thanks for watching the show and taking the time to read our blogs. Remember, it’s just a way to get to know us individually and to gain perspective on everyone’s equally important views on life.

Much love,
Yo
