Plus, other buzzy headlines from the week in fashion and beauty.
The past week was filled with notable fashion and beauty moments. ICYMI—or in case you need to chat up a very plugged-in set—here are the week's hottest headlines. Take a skim, and voila! You're an in-the-know fashion pro. Now you just need to master your air kisses.
When she's not marching alongside sister Bella, Gigi's modeling alongside her brother Anwar. The genetically blessed duo appears in a black-and-white spread in the March issue of British Vogue.
The top model took to Instagram to gush over her experience on the shoot. "Welcoming my lil bruv to [British Vogue!]," she sweetly wrote. In the story, Gigi opens up about her relationship with Zayn, and cops to nodding off during movie dates.
"I need coffee to stay up," Gigi confessed. "I’m always like, ‘Babe, let’s go to a movie.’ Then I fall asleep halfway through.’” If you're keeping track: this is the second time Gigi has appeared on the cover of British Vogue.
Speaking of all things British, Princess Diana's jewels have gone up for auction at Guernsey’s. A necklace known as The Swan Lake Suite, made with 178 diamonds and five pearls, is on offer for a cool $12 million.
Zendaya gave us yet another reason to adore her this week. When the singer stumbled across the nasty comments of an internet troll, she was quick to defend the woman he was insulting:
"Slay on queen," the singer wrote, after pointing out that the woman in question is "fine as hell."
Zendaya then came back to Twitter, asking fans to help her locate the woman so that she could be cast as a model in a Daya by Zendaya campaign.
From celebrity designers to celebrity models, here's some news from Kenzo: The brand, which recently made waves with its wholly original perfume ad, has cast red-carpet queen Tracee Ellis Ross in its spring/summer 2017 campaign. Tracee appears alongside fellow actor Jesse Williams and musician Kelsey Lu. Look out for a campaign film to drop on February 20.
That's not it for big celebrity news. Gabrielle Union announced this week that she's creating a hair line called Flawless. (It will be available at Ulta Beauty stores on April 16.) Offering shampoos, conditioners, blow-dry cream, and more, the range is "for every person with textured hair," Gabrielle told WWD.
Finally, a bit of designer-departure news. The fashion world gasped collectively when it was announced that Riccardo Tisci will leave his post as creative director at Givenchy. Rumor has it the design whiz will move onto Versace, though nothing has been confirmed.
In the meantime, Vogue said of the designer's legacy: "Ticsi’s flame has attracted such glittering divas as Beyoncé and Rihanna, drawn, one imagines, not just to the obvious sex appeal of Tisci’s reveal/conceal dresses, but to their exquisite craftsmanship."
We'll see you next Friday for more gowns, glamour, and gossip.
