Kenya Plays the Victim
Phaedra doesn't understand why Kenya was so bothered by Walter's appearance at Kandi's party.
Some of us always have to play the victim in order to be the center of attention. In this week's episode we see that in epic fashion with our resident twirler Kenya. As always, she assumes that every event is about her. This week is no different.
Atlanta is a major metropolitan city; however, as in any town or city, there are small social circles. It isn't unusual to see many of the same faces at every event you attend. While I've known Kenya for approximately six months, I've known her alleged ex-beau Walter Jackson for well over a decade. He has been a fixture in Atlanta's social scene since I met him. Since he and my husband met, they have enjoyed a blossoming friendship. When he and my husband spoke as we were en route to Kandi's party, there was no reason to call anyone to alert them that he was coming as he was their invited guest. Please know that Apollo and I would never invite anyone to someone else's home as that is socially tacky and uncouth. It's very egocentric to expect someone to adjust their guest list according to your preferences. Kandi's estate is large enough that everyone at the party could've played hide and seek and never been found, so why did Kenya assume he came with a date to find her? It was obvious he didn't want her when they were allegedly together, so why would he want her now?
