Eric Ripert Shares What Anthony Bourdain Was Working on Prior to His Passing
The Bravo's Top Chef guest judge opened up about his good friend's final days.
Eric Ripert, who was close friends with the late Anthony Bourdain, is opening up about what the Parts Unknown host was working on prior to his untimely passing in June.
Speaking to Esquire, Eric shared that Bourdain was planning for the next season of Parts Unknown at the time of his death. "His goal was to do many more seasons." The Kitchen Confidential author had also been working on writing and publishing — and was even working on jokes for a stand-up comedy routine.
And though those seasons of Parts Unknown will never come, Bourdain's good friend takes comfort in the fact that the legendary host left a strong legacy. "He has changed the way we see the world," he said.
The Le Berdardin chef added: "He has changed the way television covers travel shows and food shows. Who would have known what happened in Congo or in Libya except through his eyes? He was giving a voice to people. His show was not a food show. It was not a travel show. It was much bigger than that. All of this, I think, it's something that will never be forgotten."
