Vera Wang Is Designing Wedding Cakes Now and They’re Super Chic
Let the designer inspire your entire wedding, why don't you.
Depending on your perspective, one of the best parts of any wedding is the cake (or cakes if you're Prince Harry and Meghan Markle). That's one reason why it's pretty epic to learn that Vera Wang and Ladurée are now collaborating to create haute desserts. Sure, Wang is known for her iconic white dresses, but can we talk about her darn desserts now too?!
Announcement of the whirlwind collaboration — dubbed Vera Wang Pour Ladurée — on January 11 sent some ripples through the wedding industry when both entities jointly shared the news on social media.
Per their posts, fans can expect a line of "delectable designer deserts including coconut crème chantilly macarons, coconut and mango wedding cakes, coconut and mango mini cakes, and a cake made out of coconut crème chantilly macarons."
Elle called it a "first of its kind collab," and it's ready-to-taste at Ladurée's New York City locations throughout the month of January.
Wang told the magazine that she was "thrilled" to join forces with the cult favorite French patisserie, as it's part of her most memorable and enchanting experiences in Paris."
(We're thrilled this happened, too.)
Here's how Ladurée described its Wang-inspired beauties: "Your wedding day requires the perfect dress and... the perfect cake. Crafted with the expertise of Ladurée’s renowned pâtissiers, the all-white mango and coconut confections are inspired by Vera Wang’s iconic bridal designs."
Swoon.
Those interested in ordering a Vera Wang Pour Ladurée cake for their actual wedding — how does one resist? — can place a special order through the end of 2018. They're available in individual ($20 each) and full-size ($20 per guest with a 40-guest minimum) versions.
