Dream Job Alert: Queen Elizabeth Is Hiring a Chef... to Live at Buckingham Palace!

But you'll have to master Her Majesty's particular food cravings.

By Tamara Palmer

There's a vacancy at Buckingham Palace... specifically, in the kitchen! Queen Elizabeth is looking for a new assistant chef who will cook there and occasionally at her other residences as well.

It should be an exciting time to work for the royal family — to say the least — as Prince William and Kate Middleton look forward to the spring arrival of their third child and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare for their May 2018 wedding.

"This is no ordinary Demi Chef de Partie role," states the job posting. "In our state-of-the-art kitchens, you'll prepare classical and contemporary menus for a wide range of events, learning essential skills that will provide stepping stones for a great career."

Be advised, the gig does not fetch the princeliest of sums; it's about the equivalent of $27,000 per year, and there is a "salary adjustment" if you choose to actually live on the premises at Buckingham Palace. But you also get the beginnings of a pension and 33 days off per year. Applications are due January 1. And if you apply, do keep in mind that the queen likes to eat two breakfasts and sometimes even goes paleo. (You're welcome.)
