Meghan Markle's Secret Food Project Has Finally Been Revealed
So that's what the Duchess of Sussex was up to.
Now that Meghan Markle is England's Duchess of Sussex, the public gets to know about most of her royal appearances, but she was able to keep a profound secret that has now emerged: She has written the foreword to a new charitable cookbook called Together: Our Community Cookbook (out September 25).
According to Daily Mail, Meghan secretly visited a London mosque to cook with women who were victims of last year's deadly Grenfell Tower fire and subsequently formed Hubb Community Kitchen to cook for their neighborhood in need.
"I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry, and cook together," she wrote in the foreword.
The cookbook features easy to follow recipes from Europe, North Africa, the Mediterranean, and Middle East, including coconut chicken curry, eggplant masala, Persian chicken with barberry rice, and caramelized plum upside-down cake. The Queen is reportedly really restrictive about food — she is said to hate garlic and even disapproves of pasta — but surely she can get behind the new Duchess' charitable efforts in the food world.
