In-N-Out Just Added Its First New Menu Item in 15 Years and It's Pretty Epic
Who says you can't improve on perfection?
Far from being just any old fast food chain, In-N-Out Burger seems in many ways to transcend the whole enterprise. It counts among its fans top chefs who wouldn't otherwise dream of touching fast food — and it even vegetarians, like this writer who could die happy on grilled cheese with grilled onions from the In-N-Out secret menu. It's got something for everyone, you might say. But if you thought In-N-Out was perfect before, buckle up, friends — somehow it got even better.
That's because In-N-Out has just introduced its first new menu item in 15 years and it's — wait for it — hot chocolate! Yes, now you can order an eight-ounce cup of the toasty stuff to go along with your meal, and you can even request marshmallows.
According to the Orange County Register, it's not actually a brand new item per se — but the return of a popular item available in the 1950s. And the outlet reports that the beverage is actually made with cocoa powder from Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. Yum.
This is the first menu revamp since the restaurant added lemonade, and hot chocolate is now available in 328 restaurants across Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah.
The update comes on a big week for fast food menu news, with Taco Bell also adding fries to its list of available items.
