The Internet Is Obsessed with Fiji Water Girl Who Photobombed Stars on the Golden Globes Red Carpet
Is anyone thirsty for some Fiji water? After seeing these red carpet photos from the 2019 Golden Globes, you just might be.
It's hard to stand out when you're fighting for attention with Lady Gaga, Charlize Theron, and a slew of other A-list stars. But somehow, a spokesmodel for Fiji Water, aka Fiji Water Girl, managed to do just that at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday night — and the internet is having a field day with this one. In case you missed it, here's what went down:
The water company got its product into the paws of some of Hollywood's hottest stars at the awards ceremony, wrangling people to stand on the red carpet and dole out samples to anyone who got a little thirsty. (Hey, posing for billions of cameras and chatting with reporters takes work!)
It sounds innocent enough. But this one particular woman somehow managed to photobomb nearly every star who crossed her path, and the results looked something like this:
Naturally, the so-called "Fiji Water Girl" had a fake Twitter account in seconds. "Hi! I'm Golden Globes' Breakout Water Girl and also the first worldwide meme of 2019. Stay hydrated, drink Fiji!" the bio proudly reads.
Then, some of the tweets: "It's official! My manager just confirmed that I will be hosting the Oscars." And in one directed at Nicole Kidman: "She got mad because I got all the attention... Chillax, Nics."
