Immediately after Anthony Bourdain died, his girlfriend Asia Argento shared a powerful remembrance of "my love, my rock, my protector" on social media. And now, a day after Bourdain's remains were cremated in France, Argento has shared her latest set of updates with fans — and one that nods to the complexity of grief, especially in the face of sudden tragedy, and while squarely in the public spotlight.

On Instagram, Argento shared an image from Berlin, where she's currently spending time with a "sisterhood" of friends. In it, she's holding a card emblazoned with the words, “I’m a f---ing mess inside” crossed out. Beneath those are the words: "I'm fine."

Shortly after, the Italian actress Argento shared a post of a prayer in Spanish, asking god to guide her.

Argento has also been turning to music to help her make sense of, and communicate, her feelings on Bourdain's suicide. Earlier, she shared a post showing she was listening to Judee Sill’s 1971 breakup song “Jesus Was a Cross Maker." Sill also died by suicide in 1979.
