Here Are All the Creative Arts Emmy Awards That Anthony Bourdain Won Posthumously
The late chef and TV host was acknowledged for outstanding work in six categories.
The 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on September 8 and 9. Anthony Bourdain, who passed away on June 8, 2018, was honored posthumously with awards in several categories.
As the host of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, the late chef was recognized for outstanding work in a range of categories, from writing to editing and sound mixing. In total, six Emmy Awards went to the food industry icon.
There to accept the writing award on Bourdain’s behalf was producer Lydia Tenaglia, who shared some poignant words about the culinary industry icon. “Anthony was nominated for this Emmy many times,” she said. “But it had always eluded him, the one he had always coveted, so it is with tremendous bitter-sweetness that I accept it on his behalf.”
She added: “He’s really off on a journey to parts unknown. We wish we were there to shoot it with him and he really would have written the hell out of that episode.”
