Anthony Bourdain's Ex-Wife Ottavia Busia Breaks Silence With an Update on Their "Brave" Daughter
Days after Anthony Bourdain's suicide, Ottavia Busia has shared a moving update on the couple's daughter, Ariane.
Following Anthony Bourdain death by suicide, fans and loved ones immediately paid public tributes to the larger-than-life personality, with statements coming right away from his chef colleagues including best friend Eric Ripert, President Barack Obama, and his girlfriend Asia Argento.
The chef's ex-wife, the MMA fighter Ottavia Busia, took several days before sharing anything publicly on her ex-husband's death. But she has broken her silence, sharing a photo of the couple's 11-year-old daughter, Ariane, wearing black studded boots and holding a microphone as part of her performance at the NYC music venue DROM.
Busia captioned the image: “Our little girl had her concert today. She was amazing. So strong and brave. She wore the boots you bought her. Hope you are having a good trip, wherever you are.”
Bourdain is widely known to have loved fatherhood, and cherished his time home with his daughter in between 250 days out of the year spent on the road. His split from Busia was amicable, and the pair attributed it largely to Bourdain's travel schedule and physical distance.
