Anthony Bourdain's Girlfriend Asia Argento Speaks Out: "He Was My Love, My Rock, My Protector"
Asia Argento is "beyond devastated" by the news of Anthony Bourdain's tragic death.
Chef and Parts Unknown host Anthony Bourdain died on Friday of apparent suicide, and his girlfriend Asia Argento has now spoken on the tragedy.
On Twitter, she posted a note with the following message: "Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did. His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine."
Indeed, Bourdain had continually expressed his devotion to Argento, including outspoken support after she was one of the first to come forward as an accuser of Harvey Weinstein. When news of Weinstein's alleged widespread sexual abuse initially broke in October, Bourdain said he was "proud and honored" to know Argento as part of an unfiltered Twitter tirade against the mogul, whom he called a "pimp and a predator."
Recently, the pair shared affectionate photos from Hong Kong during filming for Parts Unknown.
Just hours before Bourdain's death, Argento had posted a photo of herself wearing a T-shirt that said "F--- EVERYONE." She captioned the post on her Instagram Stories, "You know who you are." It has since been deleted.
