Yolanda Hadid Is Writing a Book About Her "Long Journey" with Lyme Disease
"I'm excited because I have so much to share," the #RHOBH mom said on #WWHL.
The last few years haven't been easy for Yolanda Hadid since she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Though Yolanda has let us into her health struggle on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, prepare for her to really open up about her experience in an upcoming book.
Yolanda announced that she recently signed a book deal to share her story. "I just signed a deal. So I am right now trying to find a co-writer to do it with me. And I'll be focused on that for the next six months," she told a caller during the Watch What Happens Live After Show Tuesday (clip above). "I'm excited because I have so much to share. It's been such a long journey."
Though this may seem like a recent development, a book has actually been a long time coming for Yolanda. "I've been wanting to write a book, obviously, for four years, but haven't had the brain power to do so," she told The Daily Dish in February (clip below). "I've documented my entire journey with photographs because I learned today's world, everything is kind of visual. People don't really read that much anymore. Pictures really hit home. And it's funny because the girls on the show kind of judge me for posting a picture with an IV, which is nothing compared to the pictures that I have and the story that I have to tell. It's very detailed, it's about all the treatments that I've tried, all the different places that I've been in the world, but mainly it's about my spiritual journey that came with this."
Though Yolanda's RHOBH castmates have had a lot to say about her illness this season, she ultimately believes that the attention has helped educate the masses about Lyme disease. "Obviously, I would've wished that my friends would've trusted my journey and would have been part of it more than they were, but at the end of the day, I have opened the book of Lyme disease and brought more awareness to the disease more than probably anybody in the world," she told Andy Cohen on the WWHL After Show. "And for that, I'm grateful to Bravo at the end of the day, and that's what I kept focusing on."
