Yolanda Hadid Explains Divorce from David Foster: "I'm Not the Woman I Used to Be"
The #RHOBH mom discusses how her marriage changed after she was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
After four years of marriage, Yolanda Hadid and David Foster announced their divorce last December. Throughout much of their marriage, Yolanda was battling Lyme disease after she was diagnosed with the illness in 2012. And now, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom shares that her health struggles may have contributed to the end of her marriage. "The patient suffers, but the caretakers suffer too. Because life doesn't only change for us, it changes for the person next to you," Yolanda said on The Dr. Oz Show this week, via Us Weekly. "At the end of the day, David never changed, I changed. Unfortunately, these are the cards that life dealt me. It wasn't by choice. But I'm not the woman I used to be and I probably will never be again. My focus, my energy goes to trying to get well, trying to make a difference, trying to find a cure for my children … and David's life is really traveling, going to concerts, loud music. And I mean, I couldn't, I can barely listen to the radio."
While appearing on the show, Yolanda also addressed her children, Bella and Anwar's, own experience with Lyme disease. "As a mommy we are fixers. We want to solve their problems and give them a fair chance and a happy life," she said, via People. "At this moment my hands are tied behinds my back because I don't have the answers."
Yolanda's discussed her illness in detail on RHOBH this season. Watch her explain what life has been like in the wake of her Lyme disease diagnosis, below.
