Fredrik Eklund Just Had One of His Dreams Come True

Big things are on the horizon for Fredrik Eklund and his newest business partner, a famous guy you may have heard of before: Lenny Kravitz. The Million Dollar Listing New York agent and the rocker have teamed up for a new residential building at 75 Kenmare Street in SoHo. And it turns out that working with the rocker has long been a goal for Fredrik, who praised the musician's uncanny eye for style.

"It's a dream of mine. I have, full disclosure, tried for a very long time," Fredrik told The Daily Dish of recruiting Lenny to design the interior of the building. "This is years in the making. I have introduced the idea of Lenny to several of my developers. I have tried to get this to work and it hasn't until now for different reasons. It's his first residential building in New York. It's his first new condo. He is a very quality person. He is NoHo. He is SoHo. I've always been obsessed with his designs. Finally, I got the riddle, the equation, the formula — whatever you want to call it — to work. And we are all around this table to design this incredible building in the hottest neighborhood in New York. So it's really exciting."

Lenny Kravitzâs downtown real estate portfolio makes frequent headlines, particularly the $12.75M sale in 2010 of his 6,167-square-foot penthouse at 30 Crosby Street in Soho (rumored buyer: Alicia Keys). Now, The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively report that the musician has set his sights on adjacent Nolita and, with his firm Kravitz Design, steered the interior decor of a ground-up condo building at 75 Kenmare Street. The project marks Kravitz Designâs first New York luxury condo. With a design centered on metal, oak and, Kravitz said in a statement, âunique natural stones,â the 54,000-square-foot buildingâs 35 units will hit the market this summer priced between $1.7 million to over $12 million. Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of Douglas Elliman will head sales at the development. âWeâre going after creative people, especially those with homes in more than one city,â Eklund said. The Million Dollar Listing New York star also touted a Nolita boom â it appreciated the most of any Manhattan neighborhood last year."

Lenny commented on his role at 75 Kenmare in a statement to Real Estate Weekly last month. "My vision for 75 Kenmare centers on a layered environment, drawing inspiration from the eccentric downtown vibe while integrating elegant materials, such as unique natural stones, bonded metal and aged oak," he said. "Nolita has a style, rhythm and culture all its own, and we’ve created an environment that feels contemporary and refined, but also warm and inviting."

In addition to hitting the ground running with Lenny, Fredrik also has plans to work with his brother, Sigge, once again, following their Sirius XM radio show Buying and Selling, which ran for a limited time in late 2015.

"That's his format. He has the biggest format in Scandinavia. It's beautiful to see my brother — who I hang out with around swimming pools around the world; we travel together — in his moment, seeing him in his element, and seeing him in that forum in the workplace like that," he said. "The second thing I learned is we are meant to work together and we are already now working on our next big project that I can't disclose, but it's an exciting one. You're gonna be seeing more of the Eklund brothers soon."
